Today is the anniversary of the hottest day on record in St Louis. It was July 14, 1954. My dad was born on the hottest day EVER! It's amazing that my grandmother was able to get birth without A/C. There are two things my sister and I heard as kids.
1. The weather guy always announcing my dad's birthday.
2. There is NEVER a Cardinals baseball game on his birthday (All-Star Break) A few years ago his birthday was the weekend before the All-Star Break and we were able to take him to a game. So he HAD been a game on his birthday.
Tonight we're flying to STL and having dinner with my family to celebrate.
This photo was taken in September tailgating at the Missouri State v. K-State Football game. Of course KSU kicked the crap out of MSU. But we all had a great time. My sister is a now grad of K-State. The only non-Bear in the family.
