7 Quick Takes

1
I enjoy watching sports. However, sometimes I get burnt out on watching sports. I look forward to the Super Bowl and the BCS National Championship Game because it means we can spend our weekends doing something besides watching football.
2
Mr. B and I are currently taking a class offered through our parish and the Intercessors of the Lamb. It's call Empowerment of the Holy Spirit. All I can say is WOW! I'm learning so much about listening to God through the Holy Spirit. It has been a great experience.
3
I enjoy reading Catholic blogs to learn about my faith more. But I seem to find that there are a lot of Catholic blogs written by moms and converts. I have not found a regular Catholic blog from a newly wed that doesn't have kids or one on the way. Maybe I should fill that gap in the blog world? But if you know of one, please pass it on.
4
The other blogs I read are Food blogs. That is because I'm working another attempt to lose weight, again. I'll make it official.... I've gain the weight I lost with Weight Watchers starting from January 2006 to July 2007. Last year was a stressful year with the wedding planning and then adjusting to married life. (You know boys eat differently than girls).

5
So what else am I doing to take off the weight? I joined Curves early December. But I really count my first month is January. Yes, I worked out in December but it was just to help the holiday season of eating.
6
I love Curves... yes it's true. It's a quick 30 minute workout 3 times a week. Perfect for a busy gal like me.
7
Weekend plans... tonight is girls night. Beth and I are going to see a chick flick, Bride Wars, and hang. We haven't had a movie date night in a long time. In fact I can't remember what movie it was. It might have been 27 Dresses.
Enjoy your weekend! Go Cardinals!

Super Bowl

I might be a little young to remember the Football Cardinals playing in Old Busch Stadium, but I should do remember my dad's love-hate relationship with wanting to watch the "new" Cardinals in Phoenix, AZ. He did have a Phoenix Cardinals shirt at one point. Of course all the stuff got lost some where in my parents house once the Rams moved to St Louis. But anyway, in case you were wondering, I will be roting for the Cardinals this weekend. I have enough red to share.
I love the Super Bowl. We normally go to a friend's house for the game. But this year, she is in the middle of a remodeling project of her kitchen. So Mr. B and I will sit home and enjoy the game in our basement. The space heater should arrive Friday. So something will keep us warm.
Go Cardinals! Go Kurt!

6 month of married life

I've been married 6 months.... really? It's been 6 months? At least that's what the calendar says and it's hard to believe.

The last six months have been good. When married people tell you the first year is "hard" believe them. There is no other way to describe the first year of marriage. But honestly, I wouldn't have it anyway.

For our 6 month anniversary, we're having leftovers tonight for dinner at home. Mr. B has the day off for MLK Day. So he is warming up the meal. He treats me well.

Love ya, honey!

Emily's Studio

I'm proud to announce that my sister, Emily, has started a new blog business. She has been doing custom pottery for family and friends for a while. And now she is available to all. Check out her site at http://emilysstudio.blogspot.com/.

And yes, that is the plate she designed for Mr. B and I for our wedding.

Another Year is here

Yes, it's been one month since I last posted. With the holidays our lives have been really busy and I haven't gotten around to posting. Not that you're not important, it's just there was so much other stuff going on in my life. I wanted to take the spare moments to prepare for Christ's coming with Christmas and enjoy our first married Christmas together.

So let me recap my last month for you....

Christmas - First Christmas Together

I think this "title" of Christmas 2008 sounds pretty funny. Because Mr. B and I have been "together" since Christmas 2006. That was a tough Christmas because Mr. B had shoulder surgery 5 days before Christmas. This was such a breeze. The only hard part is that we had to get out the Christmas decorations because we hosted the appetizers of the Progressive Supper 2 weeks before Christmas. It's nice to work with a time limit sometimes. The house was decorated and we had a great part of a party before the party-goers went to 2 other homes in the neighborhood for the rest of the meal.

As for Christmas with the family it was the same.
Christmas Eve: Mass & then Mr. B's dad
Christmas Day: Morning together, lunch with his mom's extended family, dinner with mom, step-dad & brothers
26th: Travel to STL to celebrate with my family & friends
Big news... next year we will not be in STL for Thanksgiving. Because Kate is getting married the week before in STL. So she is forcing us to switch it up. That will be different to wake up at my parents' home on Christmas morning 2009.
New Year's Eve
We returned home on Tuesday evening. Mr. B woke up sick at 3am! So we didn't go to the party on NYE. He felt well enough to go to church on New Year's Day at 11am. Then he went right back to bed. I never got sick. But I was for sure lazy with him.
Now it's Sunday evening. We've put away all the Christmas decorations and made lunches for our first day back to work in 2 weeks. Tomorrow is going to be a tough day for all. Pray for us.
Happy New Year!!
